Neighbours…. Everybody Needs Good Neighbours!

We have met some amazing people on our trip so far, so this is a little thank you to our fellow camping travelers who have made our stays special. Firstly from Coober Pedy through to Kings Canyon, we followed Narelle and John. Chloe was very intrigued with their roof top tent. We were both recently starting our travels so it was so nice to bond over our similar trip.

Our next neighbours to mention were the lovely Perry family who were camped next to us in Darwin. The kids joined forces on the jumping pillow daily, fairy gardens were made and of course ‘animal hospital’ with their furry toys kept them all happy. The adults played’happy hour’ with story swapping to make the most of what Darwin had to offer. We also shared Granny, Millie’s mum and Káren, my bestie from Canberra. We sure were a merry bunch!

A quick stopover at Limestone Creek free camp had the New South Welsh people seeking each other out – this top spot soon filled up quickly, hence seeking out potential camp neighbours.

Here we met Joel, Anne, Josh, Lachie and Bruce. It was like we had been neighbours for years. We then kept in touch all the way through to Kununarra. Hope you guys enjoy your time on the Gibb as much as we did!

Finally – Olivia and Matt! In Kununurra, we had an amazing lakefront spot in the unpowered section.

This beautiful English couple who are traveling Australia reminded us so much of ourselves nearly 20 years ago, when we lived/worked in London and traveled Europe. Thank you guys for sharing meals (and babysitting Chloe!) and your good company. It felt like we were one campsite rather than two. We really hope to see you in Orange for an Aussie Christmas. I promise to make the baked spuds as crunchy as possible!
